Privacy Policy

Load AI Flashcards ("Load") turns your study material into flashcards. It has no user accounts, shows no ads, and does not track you across other companies' apps or websites. This policy describes exactly what the app does with data.

What stays on your device

Your study sets, flashcards, tags, and study history are stored only on your device. They are not uploaded to us and are not synced. "Delete All Data" in Settings removes them. A small counter of free AI generations used is kept in secure app storage (the Keychain on iOS; app data included in device backup on Android) and can persist if you reinstall the app.

Study material you send for AI generation

When you tap Generate, the text you pasted — or the text the app extracted on your device from a PDF or text file you chose — is sent over an encrypted connection to Porter Street's generation service, hosted on Google Cloud in the United States, and forwarded to our AI provider (currently OpenAI) to write the cards. The original document itself is never uploaded; only its text is.

Porter Street does not store your study text after the response is returned, does not use it to train models, and does not link it to your identity. Our request logs record sizes, counts, and timing, not content. OpenAI processes the text under its API terms: OpenAI states that data sent to its API is not used to train or improve its models, and that it keeps abuse-monitoring logs of API content for up to 30 days, unless longer retention is required by law or is reasonably necessary to protect its services or others from harm. Identifiers the service receives

To prevent abuse and to confirm whether a generation is free or covered by a subscription, a request can include: your device's IP address (seen by any internet service and used for rate limiting); an app-identification token; a random installation identifier created by the app; an anonymous customer identifier created by our subscription provider, RevenueCat; and a cryptographic attestation confirming the request comes from a genuine copy of the app (Apple's App Attest on iOS; Google's Play Integrity API on Android, which also confirms the app was installed from Google Play). None of these contain your name, email address, Apple Account, or Google account, and we do not use them to identify you personally. The service may keep the installation identifier, the anonymous customer identifier, and generation counts to enforce usage limits.

Subscriptions

Purchases are processed by Apple (iOS) or Google Play (Android). We never receive your payment details. We use RevenueCat to manage subscription status; RevenueCat receives the anonymous customer identifier and your purchase history for this app (product, dates, and status) from Apple or Google Play, and uses it to provide subscription status and subscription analytics to us. Analytics

The app uses Google Analytics for Firebase to understand how features are used, so we can improve them. It records anonymous product-interaction events — for example that a generation was requested, succeeded, or failed, that a study session started or finished, or that the subscription screen was viewed — with counts and categories only. It never includes your study text, card questions or answers, titles, tags, or file names. It uses an app-instance identifier, general device information (such as model, OS version, and language), and a general location (country or city level) that Google derives from a masked IP address — the app never uses GPS or Location Services. Google Analytics also automatically measures in-app purchase events (the product, its price, and that a purchase happened). It does not use the advertising identifier, this data is not linked to your name, email, Apple Account, or Google account, and we do not use it to track you across other companies' apps or websites. Sharing

We do not sell your data. We share data only with the service providers named above (Google, OpenAI, RevenueCat, Apple) as needed to run the app, or when required by law.

Children

Load is a general study tool and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

Your choices

You can use the app without AI generation by creating cards manually; nothing is sent to us in that case. You can delete all app data in Settings, and manage or cancel a subscription in your Apple Account settings (iOS) or your Google Play subscriptions (Android). To ask about or request deletion of server-side identifiers associated with your installation, contact us.

Changes

We will post any changes to this policy on this page and update the effective date.
